Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands offers two types of offshore companies which can operate within the Cayman Islands.

The first is an exempted company and the second is the less expensive non-resident company. Non-resident companies are less flexible than their counterpart, however, are more economical to create, form and maintain year over year. An exempted company in the Caymans typically pays the government over 700 usd in annual fees.

Either of the aformentioned companies can be used for companies with offshore operations.

Exempted Companies

Exempted companies in the Caymans receive a 20 year guarantee against taxes, and the names of the shareholders are private and not made part of the pubic record. These two aspects make the Caymans one of the more popular locations for offshore company domiciliations, despite the relatively high cost as compared to other Caribbean offshore centres.

Directors

Directors of an exempted company must hold at least one meeting every year in the Caymans. Amendments will enable a company to carry out any business not prohibited explicitly by Cayman law. And, redomiciliation in and out of Cayman is now permitted.
